Sara R. Yazdani is a Swedish-Iranian art historian and art critic. She received her Ph.D. in Media Aesthetics from the University of Oslo in 2019. Her fields of research and teaching are modern and contemporary art with a particular focus on history and theory of photography, the relationship between art, media, technologies, theories of the Anthropocene, media ecologies, and process philosophy.

She is teaching at the University of the Arts, London, and National Academy of the Art, Oslo. She is currently working on her first monograph, Self-Sufficient Images, a critical history of Wolfgang Tillmans’s oeuvre, and the re-emergence of an ecological, processual approach to art photography.
